Industry Interaction

In order to improve the employability and enhance competency among the students community Department having MOU with reputed industry. Bridge the gap between industries and academia we regularly taking our students to industrial visit to well established organization. The Department conducting Infosys compass connect program and Wipro mission 10x program in the college campus.

To enhance the technical knowledge of the students and to provide an exposure to the unconventional Machining process, a couple of Industrial visits were arranged for the students to CDAC, Bangalore. Which provided clear idea to the students about the hardware & networking concepts which are required to develop their skills for the current IT Industry.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with INFOSYS Campus-Connect, has helped in training and placements of students in top companies.

These efforts will lead SAIT to significantly contribute to the emerging technology of the future.

Campus connect is an industry-academia partnership initiative launched by Infosys. The campus Connect initiative aims to enhance the education level of engineering students, nationwide and thus increase the employability of these engineers. As a part of this initiative Infosys shares with partner colleges its proven courseware, methodology and education experiences. Campus Connect thus helps partner colleges groom industry Ready engineers.

The Foundation Program is designed by the Education & Research department of Infosys primarily to train and prepare fresh engineering graduates who join the company and take up challenging projects. It consists of courses in three streams Generic, Open system, and internet. The Campus Connect (CC) initiative brings this well-tested and successful training courseware and methodology in the Generic Stream to the partner colleges.

By the end of the program, the students develop a good knowledge and understanding of a complete family of concepts along with corporate and software processes and thus are fully prepared to become software professionals. The goal of Campus Connect is to build a sustainable partnership with engineering education institutions for mutual benefit.

Mission 10X is a faculty development program conducted by WIPRO for engineering college faculty members in India. It aims to achieve the following:

  • Expose the faculty members to modern and advanced ways of teaching.
  • Move from a (only) chalk-and-talk approach to more interactive methods.
  • Demonstrate some of the interactive methods through active participation from the attendees.
  • A paradigm shift from 'teaching' to 'learning'.
  • Help teachers build a bond with their students and work together towards a common goal.
  • The program is offered free of cost to the host institute except that the facility cost incurred for conducting the program.

Industrial visit has its own importance in the career of a student who is pursuing a professional degree. It is considered as a part of college curriculum, mainly seen in engineering courses.

Objectives of industrial visit are to provide students insight regarding internal working of companies. It provides students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. It gives them exposure to current working practices as opposed to possibly theoretical knowledge being taught at college. Industrial visits provide an excellent opportunity to interact with industries and know more about industrial environment. Industrial visits are arranged by colleges for students with an objective of providing students functional opportunity in different sectors like IT, Manufacturing and services, finance and marketing. Industrial visit helps to combine theoretical knowledge with industrial knowledge. Industrial realities are exposed to the students through industrial visits.
